Inferpedia - an encyclopedia of the missing
Public research preview — Inferpedia is a working encyclopedia of what's missing, opened while the scaffolding is still up.

Textual variance · historical name “Variom”

Variome

Variome tracks what a text reads at each locus (chapter/verse), and how readings relate across witnesses, citation, compression, and paraphrase. It sits below work identity: its basic unit is the locus/token, not the work as a whole. This pilot ported here covers the Latin Bible, with a first materialized case study in the Gospel of John, and reception citations from John Wyclif and Thomas Aquinas modelled as embedded author citations rather than direct biblical witnesses.

This surface was ported from an embryonic 2026-03/04 Drupal pilot (module name “Variom”), preserving its data, model design, and historical noetic harvest with honest provenance. No new noetic (model-internal) readings were generated in this port.

Works

Materialized works carry ported locus-level readings; cache-backed works render from the public-domain Clementine base text only, with no witness apparatus yet.
